Brews and Bands Festival
Brews & Bands is an annual community festival presented by The Wythe Arts Council and Open Door Community. The day kicks off with the Fast and Fiorini 5K, followed by an afternoon filled with live music as talented local musicians compete for the top spot. Guests can enjoy craft brews from regional breweries and delicious, freshly prepared food from the Open Door Café. More than just a great time, Brews & Bands unites our community through music, food, and fun—all to raise vital funds supporting the missions of both organizations.
Fast and Fiorini 5K
The Fast and Fiorini Happy Little 5K is a 5k run that starts at the Open Door Cafe the morning of the festival. The run crosses main street, turns down spring, runs back through the historic neighborhoods, and returns to the Cafe. All proceeds from the 5k go to provide housing to our community members in need.
Wythe Arts Council
The Wythe Arts Council was formed in 1985 by community members who were passionate about bringing arts, music, and culture to Wythe County, Virginia. The initial target was developing the Chautauqua Festival, which is a week long music and arts festival that showcases local artists of all kinds and features nightly entertainment. The festival has evolved over the years, but it's still one of Wytheville's most highly anticipated events!
Open Door Community
Open Door Community is a non-profit serving Southwest Virginia, who’s mission is to create sustainability in our communities through housing and food access. Open Door operates several community focused programs, including the Cafe, HOPE Packs, Nourishing Neighbors, Emergency Shelter, and many more.
